Good morning Faith Pals,<\/strong><\/p>\n

Well…what wind we had last night!\u00a0 Never underestimate the natural elements!<\/strong><\/p>\n

A reminder that the event about climate change is on tomorrow (see last Friday’s email for all the details in one of the attachments.\u00a0 If you can’t locate it and are interested, please let me know and I will send them to you. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Here is a notice for an event for this Sunday afternoon, from the Victorian Council of Churches:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Margaret \u00a0received a very heavy bag of groceries for Bayciss last week.\u00a0 She does not know who dropped it off, so a BIG THANK YOU to that angel.\u00a0 Margaret delivered a load to Bayciss on Monday, and they were extremely thankful for the generosity of the community.<\/strong><\/p>\n

News: I hope Alan and Fredrica are enjoying a bit of relief, able to relax a little.\u00a0 We continue to keep them in our prayers, along with many others, including Rohini and Jaya, John, Ed and Joan and Sid and Marj, and all in aged care.<\/strong><\/p>\n

David is coming home later today, so that is good news.\u00a0 Thank you for all your emails, phone calls and prayers-you are a wonderful congregation, even if I can’t be with you face-to-face.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For a giggle: a joke (from a minister and placed in his congregation’s newsletter):<\/strong><\/p>\n

‘And God said to John, “Come forth, and you shall be granted eternal life.” But John came fifth, and won a toaster.’<\/strong><\/p>\n

For something inspiring and uplifting:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Look up You Tube for:\u00a0 Michael Ball, Tom Moore and the NHS Choir singing “You’ll Never Walk Alone.”\u00a0 https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=LcouA_oWsnU<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Look at the video version with all the faces,\u00a0 Capt. Tom Moore (now Col.) raised over \u00a333 million (yes, that is NOT a typo!) for the British NHS by his 100th birthday by walking laps of his garden. He was knighted by the Queen and received many other honours.\u00a0 An inspiring, heart-warming video! (you will need a tissue!)<\/strong><\/p>\n

There is a lot on the web about him.\u00a0 An amazing man who has inspired\u00a0 others to walk to raise funds, including a six year old boy with spina bifida (who raised over \u00a3195,000), a double leg amputee, a stroke victim, a farmer, a nine year old boy with cerebral palsy, and a 100-year-old man, Dabirul Islam Choudhury, who raised more than \u00a3150,000 for Covid-19 relief by walking 100 laps of his garden while fasting for\u00a0Ramadan.\u00a0 Capt Moore set up his own Foundation, to continue to raise funds for a number of charities.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We can all do our bit making this a better world for others.\u00a0 That is our Christian mission.<\/strong><\/p>\n
