{"id":3318,"date":"2020-05-29T19:57:41","date_gmt":"2020-05-29T09:57:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.leighmoorunitingchurch.org.au\/?p=3318"},"modified":"2020-05-29T19:58:02","modified_gmt":"2020-05-29T09:58:02","slug":"from-barbaras-desk-29-05-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.leighmoorunitingchurch.org.au\/?p=3318","title":{"rendered":"From Barbara&#8217;s Desk  29-05-2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Hello again Faith Pals!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>I hope you are all coping with lock down.\u00a0 It is teaching us patience, resourcefulness, prayer techniques, and building up our gratitude credit!\u00a0 When we count our blessings, there are so many, aren&#8217;t there?\u00a0 Yesterday, when I was speaking with a member of the congregation,\u00a0 she said we live in the lucky country.\u00a0 Compared to most of the world at the moment-that is so true.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Keep up your prayers for the world, and its inhabitants.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>I have some poetry to share:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Janet Soo&#8217;s haiku this week looked at the return to school for some of the children, and the relief on both sides.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>AFTER LOCKDOWN<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Children return to school<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Smiles on faces<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Of mothers.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>John Wallace sent me two; I will hold the other over until next week.\u00a0 John sent this one last night:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>The Garden of Friends As a garden is full of flowers So are our years full of hours Our lives are rich with many a friend On whom we may always depend But there is one thing we all need That is a friend who\u2019s a friend indeed I have a friend who\u2019s closer than a brother He\u2019s not my brother or a lover He is Jesus who is with me wherever I go And there is one thing you must know That I love Him more than any other More than a sister or a brother Because of Him I have many a friend And if I need anything I can always lend He is my all sufficiency who will be with me From now until the rest of eternity He heals my body and takes my sin How to love Him I don\u2019t know where to begin By John P.
