{"id":3297,"date":"2020-05-15T12:27:58","date_gmt":"2020-05-15T02:27:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.leighmoorunitingchurch.org.au\/?p=3297"},"modified":"2020-05-15T12:31:35","modified_gmt":"2020-05-15T02:31:35","slug":"from-barbaras-desk-15-05-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.leighmoorunitingchurch.org.au\/?p=3297","title":{"rendered":"From Barbara&#8217;s Desk 15-05-2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Hello Faith Pals,<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I hope you are going to enjoy the sunshine today.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t mind the cold nights if our reward is the blue sky.\u00a0 I lived in Canberra for about 20 years, so I am used to the chill!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Now, I gave you the gift of Rob Weir&#8217;s haiku on Monday.\u00a0 Here is one from Janet Soo:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Half moon Pink and grey sky Butcher birds greeting the day. \u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">So much talent!\u00a0 I know some of you are displaying your talents in the garden, or in the kitchen, or via craft or sewing.\u00a0 Others are sharing their pastoral gifts. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Speaking of Rob-we greeted each other on the escalator at the supermarket yesterday.\u00a0 It was wonderful seeing someone from the congregation!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Yesterday this came in from the Spiritual Health website:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A friend stands on the precipice of death<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Peace is no where<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Friends and family form a circle of love<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Peace is now here<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A patient wrestles with her fear<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Peace is no where<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Spiritual care creates space for difficult words to be spoken and held<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Peace is now here<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">What a difference a space makes! But the church is not simply singing a blessing, each day we&#8217;re looking to practically be a blessing. Many of the churches included in this song have assisted with supplying over 400,000 meals to the most vulnerable and isolated in our nation since COVID-19 lockdown began. This alongside phone calls to the isolated, pharmacy delivery drops and hot meals to the NHS frontline hospital staff.
